How to know if you need a hearing test

Can you hear people talking, but can’t quite make out what they’re saying? Can you hear the TV or radio only if you turn it so loud that your family members complain? If so, you should probably have your hearing tested.

Audio loss affects approximately 28 million people in the world today. There are many reasons why this number is so high. Some have simply lost this sense because they are getting older, but others have lost it due to work environments or high-frequency music. There are other reasons, but these are the most common. 5. How is it when you use the phone?

Let’s look at some of the main problems related to hearing loss. Statistically, it is “second only to arthritis as the most common complaint of older adults.” Unfortunately, it can only be improved by surgery or any other medical procedure by about 5%. Again, the good news is that for the remaining 95%, chances are they can be successfully helped with a hearing aid.

It’s amazing to think that only about 15% of all doctors have their patients get a hearing test. It’s usually not part of a regular annual physical, but it should be. Having this sense diminished can really wreak havoc on your health in many ways.

Many hospitals today perform an automatic hearing test on all newborns. This is wonderful news because a child can be challenged in school by even a small amount of loss.
