How to be a church secretary and survive!

While reading a recent article on the role of the church secretary or administrator, I noticed that:

Tea church secretary should:

1) have a caring attitude and excellent social skills

2) operate with integrity and have a positive attitude

3) be articulate and computer literate;

4) have effective verbal and word processing skills

5) live a Christ-centered life.

Whether you are a paid staff member or a volunteer, the role of a secretary is quite demanding!

One thing is for sure, whether you are very experienced in the position or new, there is no place to work like a church office!

a good secretary is important in a church setting because he/she is in the front line and the first person the public sees or talks to.” Yes, this is a key role in welcoming people into the church and making them feel feel part of the body of Christ.

Their role is to facilitate the work of church leaders by providing administrative and organizational support, while also performing one hundred and one different tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the church.

Tea work description The role of a church secretary will vary considerably from church to church, but many of the key tasks are similar, and it is certainly more than just answering the phone and printing the weekly bulletin or bulletin.

An effective secretary will be able to multitask, deal with dozens of interruptions, meet impossible deadlines, and all while still smiling!

However, there is one key thing to know before taking on the role of secretary or administrator, and that is whether it is God’s calling for you. In a recent publication for new church personnel, I found the following quote:-“above all, it is essential to know that your work is part of God’s work and the advancement of his work in the Church and in the locality” .

Not knowing what this is God is calling youYou might consider tackling this as ordinary “job,” which will make you much less effective and more prone to spiritual burnout.

However, if you are sure that God is asking you to work for Him in this way, then you can be sure that “when God calls, God supplies.” When God supplies, he supplies completely; not just half or in moderation. That applies as much to the people and office skills we need as it does to the finances we often consider when we talk about God’s calling and supply.

In short, the job of a Church Secretary is vital, serving the church and helping to enable its worldwide mission.
