Many people go to professionals to have the interior of their car cleaned. They charge a bomb for this job. However, if you know how to do it, you can easily do it on your own. Basically the process consists of removing garbage, vacuuming, cleaning fabrics and upholstery and cleaning the dashboard area.

1) Get rid of junk: First of all, remove all the unwanted junk that you don’t need in the car. You have to remove everything so that you can vacuum it very well.

2) Vacuum cleaning: After removing all the mats, use a vacuum to clean the seats and carpet. Using the appropriate accessory, clean the area under the seats, near the pedals, between the seats and the center console. Vacuums the mats very well.

Using a soft brush, vacuum the doors and dash. For effective car interior cleaning, use an air compressor to blow dirt out of areas that the vacuum nozzle cannot reach. Be careful not to damage sticky parts and knobs or vents during cleaning. Vacuum the seats, and if they’re leather, be very careful not to scratch them.

3) Cleaning upholstery and seat fabrics: Various cleaning agents are available for cleaning upholstery. You just need to spray and rub very well. Then just use a dry cloth to clean it well. In case you don’t want to invest in a spray, you can use a laundry detergent. Simply add a little detergent to warm water and squeeze a cloth into it. Use the damp cloth to clean the upholstery and rub harder on the really dirty areas. After this, just dry it completely. In this process, be very careful that the water does not seep under the carpet or seats or between the electrical devices. There could be staining or corrosion if it happens. It could even leave an unpleasant smell if you don’t dry it well.

4) Windshield and glass cleaning: Use a suitable glass cleaner to clean the inside of the windows and the windshield. Try not to clean with a rough cloth as it can leave scratches.

5) Dashboard and Door Interiors: Clean the dashboard, plastic parts, door interiors and hardware, and the center console with a damp cloth with a little detergent and polish well. You can use a polish to make it shiny and the polish even protects the plastic. Use a soft brush to clean your music system.

6) Carpet: Use a carpet cleaner to clean the carpet and give it a good scrub. Use a cloth to dry it. Even a laundry detergent will work. Do not submerge the mat in water.

7) Fresh Fragrance: You can use air spray or perfume to get fresh air from the air conditioner vents. If you follow the car interior cleaning tips above, I assure you that your car trip will be a pleasure.
