bad smell in the car

Many of us face a bad smell problem inside the car. Actually, the additional odor inside the car is the reason to do a full inspection and find the reason. There is no universal solution to the problem. First, you need to find the source of it.

The source of the odor is bacteria, which can grow in dirty places. In some cases, when you breathe the same air, your lunges can become slow and you will need to visit your doctor.

The bad smell can be dangerous for a driver because he cannot concentrate on the road. The cheapest way to remove it is to spray deodorants. Those kinds of deodorants can’t destroy the smell, they just mask it for several days.

Let’s say the smell of gasoline means the gas tank drain line most likely requires cleaning. If you have a smell of engine oil, then you need to check the gaskets and seals on the engine. The most dangerous thing is the smell of burning and the need to check the electrical wiring.

Other main sources are:

– air conditioning outlets,

– drinks/food at the seats,

– shoe prints on the car floor carpet,

– old water can be the cause of the smell inside the car, under the seats or in the gaps in the floor,

– plastic parts inside the car can have a bad smell and require specific polishing substances,

– cigarette/tobacco odor is the most common; it can be inside fabric and under the ceiling upholstery and ashtray of course; most smoker drivers do not feel the smell inside their car,

– fish, onion, egg and urine – those 4 will produce the worst smell once you forget to remove them.

Many people use simple old methods, which are actually very useful to remove:

– dry smell – mix baking soda in water and then spray inside the car for 3-4 hours,

– damp smell – coffee beans inside the cloth bag; keep them inside at least 3 days,

– tobacco smell – keep the plate with a paper towel inside the car and touch the plate with vinegar; remove the plate after 4-5 hours, or vanilla extract – just apply several drops to the seats,

The most common methods to keep the interior of the car cool are:

– regular general cleaning with a vacuum cleaner,

– scrub the interior of the car to remove dirt,

– don’t forget food and drink inside,

– regularly replace the cabin filter,

– the freshest air inside the car,

– clean the car dashboard,

– clean the interior with steam,

– ozone generators.

If you do not feel a bad smell, it does not mean that the air is fresh. You are usually comfortable with your body odor but in fact it changes every day and the interior of your car accumulates all those odors. Body odor depends on 3 main reasons:

– how often you use the shower,

– your physical activity,

– your food and drinks.

Many ingredients in fast food restaurants can specify your body odor. Let’s say alcohol, sunflower oil, spicy, chips, red meat: if you like them too much, it means that it will have a special and generally negative smell within an hour after it is released.

That’s why regular cleaning is a must-have procedure for your vehicle. In those cases, you can also use dry fogging, a special process in which the hygienically approved substance will act like a fog inside the car and reach bacteria everywhere, even under the roof, and kill them. As a result, the original factory smell will return to your car.
