What to do with email subscribers so they don’t ignore you

You’ve probably worked hard to get someone to join your email subscriber list. But are they ignoring your emails or even unsubscribing almost as soon as they sign up? Email marketing remains the most effective form of online marketing. So you don’t want to give up on building your email list.

You have to be careful with your email list. Treat everyone like potential customers, because that’s what they are.

Pay attention to your list

If your emails are not being answered, please re-evaluate your offers and check your autoresponder delivery process for errors. Having said that, don’t get caught up in the “They will unsubscribe if I send too many emails.” There will be unsubscribes no matter what you do. Loyal customers will always remain, so let non-buyers filter through.

Don’t continually send sales messages

People signed up for your list because they believed you provided value. They will ignore or unsubscribe you if all you do is send them sales messages. Yes, you’ll need to send some sales messages, but also send them special rewards, giveaways, bonus offers, and discounts. Make them feel that they are valued for opening and reading your emails.

Your subject line is boring

Your email subject line is vital to getting your email subscribers to open the email. Make sure your subject lines are catchy and not commonplace. Don’t trick people into opening your email with a subject line that doesn’t deliver what it promises. That is a sure way to lose the trust of your subscribers.

Remember your target audience

It is much better to have fewer truly targeted subscribers than to have thousands of untargeted subscribers who will almost never buy from you. If you have multiple offers for different niche markets, segment your email lists to ensure you send the most targeted offers to the right audience.

Have a proven sales funnel

People become your email subscribers because they want to know more about you and your products and services. If you just send emails aimlessly, occasionally with information with a sale offer thrown from time to time, your messages can seem disorganized and ambiguous. A strong email marketing sales funnel guides your email subscribers through a pre-planned series so they get all the information they need, in the right order, and leads them to want to buy from you.
