The ideal place for any dog owner to live is a place with countless country walks and yet not too far from the necessities of life. There is a small town in central Essex called South Woodham Ferrers that is surrounded by countryside and a river. The residents are exceptionally friendly and, for the most part, kind to each other.
It’s the variety of nice places to walk that makes South Woodham Ferrers the place to live with dogs. There are walks along the River Crouch that runs through the south side of town and continues to the Essex coast. The gravel path by the river is suitable for walks all year round and the river presents a changeable mood depending on the light and the weather. This is also a favorite of local photographers who capture images of boats and sails near the yacht club, or of screeching seagulls and placid white swans that flutter between the two banks depending on where people come to feed them.
To the west and east of the city are the swamps, a rugged swamp that is home to birds, amphibians, snakes and snakes.
