Lakes and neighboring islands

Lagos comprises the main business district which is very popular due to its tall buildings. Los Lagos also has many other prominent wholesale markets, including the Balogun and Idumota markets. The National Museum of Nigeria, Glover Memorial Hall and the Central Mosque are located in Lagos.

Below are the other islands of Nigeria that surround the Lagos.

Ikovi Island is located on the eastern side of Lagos Island and is linked to it by a weir. In addition, the Okoyi Creek is also connected to the Victoria via a bridge that carries the main road over the five Cowrie Creeks.

The seat of the federal government of Nigeria and many other important public buildings, such as the federal secretariat complex, are located on the island of Okoyi. The old federal secretariat complex is now restored. The most important thing is that there are also military and police headquarters. The main prison and the federal high court are among other notable state offices located on Okoyi Island.

Business and commercial activities on Ikoyi Island are also on the rise and the number of offices, shopping centers and banks is increasing with each passing day.

Victoria Island is located on the southern side of Lagos Island. Victoria Island is an expensive place in Nigeria. Real estate is very expensive, even then a series of new luxury companies and apartments spring up everywhere in the Victoria Islands. Apart from Ikoyi, Victoria Island occupies the main part of the suburbs of Lagos which possess many important business and commercial areas.

There is a small island on the other side of the main lagoon channel from Lagos Island and it is called Iddo Island.

Being closer to the mainland, Iddo is also an important railway terminus. As a peninsula, the island of Iddo is now connected to the mainland. There are three bridges linking the island of Iddo to the mainland. One of the main bridges is the Third Mainland Bridge that cuts through densely populated suburbs across the Laguna de Lagos.
