Lady Gaga and Beyonce Heels – Fetish Ballet Heels to the Mainstream

Ballet heels hit the fashion and fetish scenes thanks to the push of celebrities and designers alike.

Thanks to celebrities like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, there is a huge demand for ballet heels.

Meg White dusted off this trend in the White Stripes’ “Blue Orchid” video, followed by Pink in her “U & Ur Hand” video. Christina Aguilera and Rihanna also used them briefly in their “Hurt” and “Umbrella” videos.

However, Beyonce broke all barriers when she and her dancers sported the fetish shoes in their “Green Light” video. Lady Gaga, not to be outdone, is also seen posing in a leather catsuit with these towering concoctions.

Ballet heels even made their runway debut recently; Alexander McQueen included the 10-inch-tall Armadillo shoe in his Spring/Summer 2010 fashion shoe. The trend has started to run wild thanks to these appearances.

Even though they’ve made a big splash with celebrities and the underground fetish scene, these fetish shoes are nothing new. They have been around since 1896 when they were made by hand in Europe. Another common predecessor to ballet boots is the Viennese fetish boot that emerged around 1900. These boots sported a dramatic 11-inch heel. It was impossible to stand or walk in these boots as the heel was actually longer than the sole of the shoe.

This contemporary style of fetish shoe is designed to force your foot to stay on pointe, like a ballerina. Ballet heels are the perfect combination of the pointe shoe and the highest, thinnest heel you can imagine. The wearer is forced to stand with her full weight on the balls of her toes with the help of the high heel. They are usually tied so that they are as tight as possible. This allows the foot to stay on the base of the shoe more easily.

These sexy little numbers are not for everyday wear, as the foot is almost parallel to the ground; If these shoes were to be worn for an extended period of time, they would cause foot cramps. These shoes, rather, should be reserved for erogenous appeal.

If you want to indulge someone’s sexual desires, there are plenty of ways to do it with these sky-high numbers oozing with sex appeal. They can be found in almost every shape imaginable, from Mary Janes to over the knee boots. Take a look at the available selections and let your cravings run wild.
