Everyone is trying to make money, either through honest hard work or by stealing from unsuspecting victims. It will never stop. Billions of dollars a year are going to be invested in scams. Sometimes you can go through desperate times and you really need money to help your loved ones and invest in them, don’t do it. It is better to get a sign and ask for money on the street. On this blog, I have listed information and links to protect you from being scammed.

Identity Theft – One of the worst scams on the planet and linked to many scams. You can ruin your credit and end your life in seconds. Preventing it is easy. People steal your identity directly through the computer. Some spyware, viruses, Trojan horses, and worms are designed to do this. Run regular virus scans on your computer and be sure to update it regularly and make sure you have firewall and spyware protection, something like Spybot (it’s free), which helps clean your system and keep it up to date.

Be wary of the sites you buy from, make sure the site is trustworthy and secure. Another means is through the phone. Oddly enough, the phone can be hacked, even cell phones, they listen to your conversation and get your information. Also burn or shred credit cards sent to you in the mail and be aware that some mail may contain your social security number or other important information. Checking your credit score can tell you what’s going on with your credit. Millions are affected by identity theft every year and for months you don’t even know it, there are people smarter than you out there trying to get your money.
