How to set up a Magento store

Magento is the most famous e-commerce platform in the world. Developers like it because it is open source. Large companies like it because it is powerful and they have huge budgets to spend on annual fees for the Premium Enterprise subscription. Learn how to set up a Magento store by following these steps:

Sign up for Magento Go

• Take a look at Magento. Visit the official website and take a look. Most of the information on the official website is for developers, so if you don’t understand it, don’t worry, your developer will do the work for you.
• Visit the Magento Go
• If you are satisfied with what you see on the web, click Go on the top menu bar of the page.
• Click Start Your Free Trial.
• Now name your online store. Insert any name you can think of. You can change the name later.
• Enter your email address and click Let’s Go.
• Fill in all the company details. You will be asked to enter your name, phone number, location, username, and password. You can also enter your level of experience and industry.
• Your password must contain at least eight characters.
• After completing the entire form, click Create my store.
• Wait for an email confirmation. Click on the link provided in the email to view their online store.
• Go to the store manager. Here you can customize your store according to your needs.

Select your store design

• Go to Design Interface. Move the cursor over the Design menu option. Now in the submenu, click on Select and customize your layout.
• Click Continue to proceed to your theme editor.
• Now explore all the topics. And then click Preview for any selected theme.
• Select your theme and click Customize.
• Set a name for your theme and click Save.
• You can also edit your theme. Once you’ve finished editing, click Save and Apply.
• Add your logo and click Submit.

Add Products

• Open the Products page. Select the product type and click Continue.
• Now fill in the product details. You can also activate WYSUWYG Editor to add the product description. You will need to enter details, including product name, delivery details, description, SKU, and weight.
• When you’re done, click Save and continue editing.
• Now add images and prices. Click the images on the left side menu to browse images from your computer. After selecting the desired image, click Upload Files. Enter the prices of the products and select Save and continue Edit.
• Add meta information and then click Save.

Launch your store

You have created a basic Magento store and are now ready to start using your online store. To open your store, go to the Quick Start Wizard and select Get Started. Now click on Start Your Store and you are good to go.
