Best Horde Sorcerer Race – A Breakdown By Purpose

When it comes to discovering the best Horde warlock race for your new character, there’s a lot to consider. Which breeds are best for which purposes? How useful is a given racial trait? Which similar trait is superior? All of these questions require a lot of searching to find answers… but we’ll help you out, determining which breeds are best for which purposes for you.

First, let’s talk about PvP. The undead maintain their typical PvP dominance, even after their 3.2 patch nerf; even with the new 45 second cooldown, Will of the Forsaken is an amazing racial ability, as being able to break CC is vital for a class with a lot of control like Warlock. Where we get into some dispute is in the second place; Orcs have superior damage, thanks to Blood Fury and its pet damage buff, but Blood Elves have superior control thanks to their AoE silence. However, I’m going to consider orcs to be superior due to the blood elves’ trait flaw: it requires being close to the enemy. And for a fragile and highly controlled class like Warlock, that’s a big risk best avoided.

So now that we’ve discussed PvP, it’s time to move on to PvE. For DPS, the best warlock race in the Horde is pretty obvious, as it’s the only race that directly buffs damage: Orc. Between Blood Fury and the pet damage buff, orc warlocks will deal a lot more damage than their counterparts. The only other worthwhile option is Blood Elves with their ability to regenerate some mana on command… but warlocks rarely have mana issues so the usefulness of this ability is debatable.

So it seems we can’t name a single best Horde Warlock race, but if you plan on playing both aspects of the endgame, Orc seems to be your best bet as his traits contribute well to both PvP and PvE, unlike the other races.
