A major key to my success in being my own doctor for the past 25 years is the alternative healthcare model of homeopathy. One of my first books was The Family Guide to Homeopathy by Dr. Andrew Lockie. He was and still is a great help in helping me find remedies for most health care problems.
Lockie, who recently passed away, left behind a golden legacy in this comprehensive, practical, and easy-to-use self-help guide. The guide offers a very accessible explanation of homeopathic theory, a homeopathic first aid guide. There is an extensive collection of ailments, symptoms and treatments, plus a well-written explanation of 60 images of homeopathic remedies. Lockie also indicates when her problem might require the services of a professional homeopath or doctor.
As I search for remedies to fix myself, family, and clients, this is often the first reference book I reach for. It is a thick book at 460 pages, but you can easily navigate as the indexing will take you to the section and then to your problem with a few page turns. Lockie’s was the second reference book in my homeopathic library which has now expanded to almost 200 books and two extensive computer programs, plus I have several remedy kits of various strengths that I use in the office. I admit I have a love affair with homeopathy because it has loved me even more faithfully than the family dog (now deceased).
