Learning basic math facts can be fun and easy

Students face new challenges each year, from increasing reading to spelling lists and learning basic math facts. For any student who wants to excel in mathematics, memorizing math facts is a must. Schedule a specific time to study every day. For example, put the same cards next to each other so that your children learn all two in one day or realize that 2 x 5 is the same as 5 x 2.

Studying online can be fun, and it also allows you to help multiple children at once. Getting your child to spend ten minutes or even five minutes a day will make a world of difference. Many websites are free and you can even set the number of questions or the upper limit number that your child is practicing.

Got a little extra time in the car and a DVD player? You might consider purchasing an interactive Math Facts DVD for the car. Many children watch the same movies over and over again. Turn potato-driving time into learning time with educational DVDs. If necessary, create a reward system for watching and learning.

All children must memorize basic math facts to be successful at the most difficult tasks. Parents should strive to help their children learn them to the point that there is almost no delay between the time a question is asked and the answer given. Being able to memorize them will also give your child confidence and boost her scores on regular exams, as well as state or national assessments.
