How resorts and hotels in Goa will help you recharge

If you plan to spend the last days of the year under the shade of the palm trees on the shores, hanging in a hammock and slowly sinking into a sweet dream, instead of attending an EDM night; then the resorts and hotels in Goa are the best bet. The southern part of the state is made up of some of the most luxurious hotels and resorts to relax and rejuvenate. Before you go ahead with booking a room or cabin, make sure of a few things like discounts offered, facilities, special off-season deals, and even your proximity. After all, you wouldn’t want to stay in an isolated place, would you? Bearing this in mind, here are some really fantastic hotels/resorts in Goa you should check into.

1. Exotic Taj – This hotel with an attractive Mediterranean theme, is located on the quiet beach of Varca. As the bellman takes your luggage, you can quickly flip through the visitor journal, none of whom say anything negative about the hotel. The hotel offers an exemplary range of services including golf course, swimming pool, spa, fitness center and entertainment options for guests. The best way to indulge in luxuries is to take the Garden Villas, which are little cottages at the far end of the property, with private pools. Hotel rates start at Rs 9,000 per night and could increase to Rs 20,000 per night during peak season.

2. The Leela – Located in a secluded corner of Mobor Beach in South Goa, this hotel has a massive property complete with a 12-hole golf course, spa, gym, swimming pools, and a slice of ocean for water sports. The hotel’s scenic spots with lagoon patches around the edges add to the refreshing ambiance. Almost all of the hotel’s rooms offer fascinating views of the sea and the hills. Average room rates range from Rs 8,000 to Rs 11,000, which is very likely to shoot up to Rs 25,000 per night during the months of December and January.

3. Park Hyatt Resort and Spa – Located very close to the airport (about 20 minutes), the Park Hyatt is one of the main luxury resorts and spas in the country. Definitely a luxury gift to relax and recharge. The attractive atmosphere of the hotel and the creative Camp Hyatt is good for families with children, but even if you go alone, you will have your share of calm. There’s a huge pool to take a quick dip to start your day, or you can also take a stroll along the long stretch of beach out front. If you like recreational activities, you can try some water sports or a rejuvenating session of yoga and meditation. Hotel rates range from Rs 8,500 to Rs 20,000 per night.

4. Alila Diwa- Touted as the new kid on the block, the Alila Diwa hotel and resorts began operations a few years ago in 2009. Apparently not situated on a beach but surrounded by vast fields of rice paddies and bananas, this captivating resort is located about 20 minutes from the airport. This unique position of the hotel amidst 12 serene acres of lush green rice paddies is also its USP. The hotel features traditional Goan architecture with a perfect blend of modern facilities. With just over 150 rooms and suites, the hotel is spacious enough for some quiet time. The hotel offers four fantastic restaurants with bars, spa, outdoor Jacuzzi, swimming pools and a library too. Room rates range from Rs 13,000 during peak season.

If you’re heading to Goa this holiday season and haven’t thought much about your itinerary, spending a few days in these excellent hotels could be the most refreshing treat for you.
