The requirements for continuing education for nurses in Ohio are different. RNs must earn 30 hours every two years, while LPNs must complete fifteen hours every two years. RNs must take at least 15 hours of CE in order to maintain their license, while LPNs must complete 15 hours of CE every two years. LPNs and LPs in Ohio are required to complete at least 12 hours of CE per licensure period, while LPNs must complete twelve hours. However, RNs must obtain at least one (1) Category A course each two years.
