Dating George Clooney and Sean Penn – Kelly Jones from Stereophonics is great!

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones loves life right now. He has rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and is looking to add the title of Filmmaker to his ever-impressive roster of talents.

Kelly was spotted at a film festival in Italy last year hanging out and having a few drinks with George Clooney, who was in town to promote his latest film, Oceans 14. Apparently, George has always had the utmost respect for music. Stereophonics throughout the years. and has always wanted to meet Kelly. George invited Kelly to his private villa in Italy, where the two apparently sat all night drinking some social drinks and discussing possible collaborations in the near future. George, who is more interested in directing movies these days than starring in them, asked Kelly to get involved in writing and producing the music for his next feature film. Kelly, of course, was over the moon as she has long had a passion for movies and movie making.

Later in 2009, Kelly was found standing next to Sean Penn at the Los Angeles airport. The duo had met before and Kelly had an interesting proposition she wanted to discuss with Sean, so she went and had a chat with the movie star. It turns out that the Stereophonics frontman, who has always had a passion for writing music, is also an avid screenwriter and once had to make the big decision to pursue music rather than get involved in movies. Kelly mentioned to Sean Penn that he had an idea for a movie that he would like Sean to take a look at. The title of the film was “The Drop” and it is based on a book called “The Hangman’s Tail,” which chronicles the life of an apprentice executioner in the early 1940s. Kelly Jones cleverly bought the rights to the book years ago. and has always wanted to make a movie with him. Sean was so impressed with the story that once the plane landed in London, Sean waited 20 minutes for Kelly to collect his bags and then asked for a copy of the script. Quite impressive for a small Welsh town!

Kelly has an upcoming European tour with Stereophonics in 2010 to promote her new album “Keep Calm and Carry on”. The new Stereophonics album so far has received rave reviews from many critics and promises to bode well for a successful tour later this year. So far, Stereophonics ticketing is doing well. Best of luck to the man and the band!
