Beach party

Beach party for all ages

Everyone loves a good beach party, especially during the hot summer months of the year. Now the best setting for a beach party is when it takes place on the beach or around a large patio with a pool. However, with a little creativity, any party, including birthday parties, can be transformed into a really energetic and fun beach party. However, for this you will need the right decoration, food and, above all, entertainment.

Your first step towards a successful beach party is the invitations. You can decorate each of your invitations in the shape of a beach umbrella, or maybe a surfboard, or even flip flops. This is a great way to give your guests a little preview of what to expect at your party. Invite them over and ask them to wear their favorite swimsuits to enjoy the sun and sand at your party.

Create a fun environment

The goal of a beach party is to have a lot of fun. So play a relaxing CD to create a cool environment. If your beach party is taking place at your pool, play a CD that contains the sound of waves and seagulls, as this will do a great job of transforming your backyard party into a beach party. Now if you like surf music and you think your guests will like it, The Beach Boys is a great option or even the B-52s. You can probably get away with playing any other summer song that you think fits well with your theme.

Decor

There are a number of options when it comes to decorations, ranging from streamers to glowing fish and even tiki masks. You can also place oversized seashells or even surfboards in your backyard. Many people love to put up inflatable palm trees as they are so easy to find and will light up your party. Paper umbrellas can protect your guests from the sun during the brightest hours of the day. Campfire and titi torches are great for providing mood lighting when it gets dark. Some comfortable loungers around the area are also great.

Entertainment

For entertainment you can include music, water balloons, water guns, etc. You can even host a conga line or limbo contest for your guests, as it’s fine for people of all ages. If your event is on a beach, it should definitely include beach volleyball, as it is an all-time beach favorite. Also buy some large beach balls to throw around. Young children can participate in a scavenger hunt where you bury a small box and draw a map for them to follow.

If you are going to have a lot of children at your beach party, it is imperative that you have a lot of beach themed games. The snorkel relay is one of the classics, it can include two or three teams each having a pair of fins, a tube and a measuring spoon/cup along with a large bowl filled with water. This is something that can involve children of all ages.
